The Hoi Polloi Youth Company is the final stage of the Hoi Polloi Academy pathway, bridging the gap between training and professional theatre-making.

Rather than attending traditional weekly classes, members become part of a year-long artistic company, collaborating with professional creatives to devise, rehearse, produce and perform ambitious theatre projects.

The programme is built on Hoi Polloi Malta's philosophy that the project determines the training. Members develop their artistic, creative and leadership skills through real productions, workshops, devising projects and company initiatives, gaining valuable experience both on and off the stage.

Throughout the season, members will:

• 🎭 Refine advanced acting, singing and movement techniques.

• 🎬 Devise, create and develop original theatre.

• 🎟 Experience the complete process of producing live performance.

• 💡 Develop skills in directing, producing, stage management, marketing and fundraising.

• 🤝 Collaborate with industry professionals and guest practitioners.

• 🌍 Build confidence, leadership, teamwork and artistic independence.

• 🎤 Perform as part of Hoi Polloi Malta's artistic programme.

The Youth Company is more than a training programme—it is a creative community where young artists learn to take ownership of their work, support one another and contribute to the future of Hoi Polloi Malta.

The 2026/27 Artistic Season establishes the foundations of the Company through a full year of training, collaboration and creative projects, culminating in the preparation of the Youth Company's first independently produced production in 2027.

Regular Company Training

• Thursdays: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

• Saturdays: 1:00pm – 3:00pm

July 2027 – September 2027

Production & Performance Period

• Wednesdays: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

• Thursdays: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Additional rehearsals, performances, workshops and company events may be scheduled throughout the Artistic Season where required.

The season includes:

• Weekly company training.

• Theatre-making and devising projects.

• Production and backstage experience.

• Fundraising and community engagement.

• Leadership and company development.

• Preparation for the Youth Company's first independently produced production.

Total payable: €1,400

Registration & Production Contribution

A €110 non-refundable Registration (50) & Production Contribution (60) is payable once per member upon registration.

This contribution covers:

✔ Registration and administration of the Artistic Season
✔ Company resources and rehearsal materials
✔ Production planning and administration
✔ Technical rehearsals
✔ Licensed scripts and performance rights (where applicable)
✔ Production-related resources required throughout the season

It does not include:

✘ Costumes
✘ Theatre tickets
✘ Optional company merchandise
✘ Optional social activities and trips

✔ Prices include VAT.
✔ Fiscal receipts are issued for all payments.

❗ Cancellation Policy

Members choosing the Pembee Subscription may discontinue the programme by notifying Hoi Polloi Malta in writing:

• On or before 30th November 2026 to discontinue before the December payment.

• On or before 28th February 2027 to discontinue before the March payment.

• On or before 31st May 2027 to discontinue before the June payment.

Cancellation requests received after these dates will not affect the upcoming subscription payment, as planning, productions and company commitments for the following stage of the Artistic Season will already have been confirmed.

Members paying the One-Time Programme Fee are not entitled to a partial refund should they withdraw during the Artistic Season.

The Registration & Production Contribution is non-refundable.

• Members are expected to demonstrate commitment, professionalism and regular attendance throughout the Artistic Season.

• Additional rehearsals, performances, workshops and company events form an integral part of the Youth Company experience.

• Hoi Polloi Malta reserves the right to amend the timetable, programme or artistic schedule where necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the Artistic Season.
