Hoi Polloi's MUSIKIDZ Show Choir Auditions 2026/27

Do you love to sing, dance and perform? Then Hoi Polloi's MUSIKIDZ – The Show Choir could be the perfect place for you!

MUSIKIDZ is Hoi Polloi's Children's & Youth Show Choir, inspired by the energy and excitement of show choirs like those seen in Glee. Our members don't just sing—they combine live singing, movement and choreography to create dynamic, engaging performances.

Throughout the artistic season, members develop healthy vocal technique, musicianship, movement and performance skills, stage presence, confidence and teamwork in a fun, supportive and creative environment.

From concerts and festivals to community events, charity performances and special productions, MUSIKIDZ offers young performers the opportunity to perform on some of Malta's leading stages while creating lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

Whether you have previous choir experience or simply love to perform, we encourage you to audition.

Auditions are open to new and returning members aged 8+.

What should you prepare?

Each auditionee should prepare a 1-minute song of their choice. Your song should showcase your voice and personality and may be from any musical genre.

Please bring your backing track on a pendrive (USB stick), ready to play on the day. You may also choose to sing a cappella.

Your audition session will include:

• Warm Welcome – A friendly chat to ease those nerves and get to know you, your age and your singing experience.

• Vocal Warm-Up – Simple sirens and scale slides.

• Pitch Matching – Repeating back notes and melodic patterns.

• Range Check – Singing ascending and descending 5-note scales.

• Prepared Song – Your 1-minute song of choice. Moves are a plus!

• Group Movement Audition – A movement session with Mr Warren Schembri Bonello, Choir Choreographer, where you will learn some simple choreography and perform it as a group. No previous dance experience is required.

Audition Groups

Auditions take place on Wednesday 16th September 2026.

Two 45-minute audition groups will be available:

Group 1 | 4:00pm – 4:45pm
Group 2 | 5:00pm – 5:45pm

Once you have registered through Pembee, you will be asked to select your preferred audition group through SignUpGenius.

Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for movement.

Successful applicants will be offered a place in Hoi Polloi's MUSIKIDZ – The Show Choir for the 2026/27 Artistic Season, with rehearsals commencing in September 2026.
