TAP is coming back to the Hoi Polloi Academy this summer — and we are excited.
This Summer Afternoon Programme is designed for young dancers who want to develop rhythm, coordination, and musicality through the dynamic language of tap dance.
While labelled “Beginner Tap,” this class is designed for students with an existing foundation in dance or performing arts.
Entry is subject to prior dance or performing arts experience.
Students will be expected to work with pace, focus, and technical awareness from the outset.
Across this focused 9-session block, dancers will:
• Learn and refine fundamental tap technique and terminology
• Develop rhythm precision, timing, and musical responsiveness
• Strengthen coordination, clarity, and lower-body control
• Build speed and articulation in footwork combinations
• Work towards a structured live presentation setting
Tap training builds discipline, precision, and performance confidence — making it a powerful complement to Jazz, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre pathways.
This programme is ideal for students looking to expand their technical dance vocabulary while maintaining structured, purposeful training over the summer months.
